Partitioning a hard drive

Hi out there.

I'm going to partition my drive with Partition Magic. If I follow the instructions can anything go wrong?

I have Norton Utilities that I can take a snapshot, I also have Go Back. If Norton takes an image, do I still need to backup my entire system to CD's?

thanks for info :D

You shouldn't, I repeat, SHOULDN'T, have any problems. But, then again, who knows what goes through the minds of software programmers?

I have always use FDISK. But, I have heard that Partition Magic is a really good programs and that it works well.

Good luck and let us know how it all turns out.

I second the motion. I have created every type of partition that PM offers, and it has allways worked flawlessly. IMHO it is the best partitioning interface out there.
Okay. Well there I feel more confident.

Thanks.

Inbliss. Not going to do this for a couple of weeks so if anyone else has any input I'm all ears.

By the way, I wouldn't use FDISK because I have loads of stuff on my hard drive. Just want to separate the operating system from my files. I lost all of my files a few months ago and don't want that to ever happen again.

I think we can all relate to that. Having to do a fresh install and losing all your stuff is gut wrenching to say the least.

I jus might go get me PM and play with it for awhile. I need to learn more about it.

thanx,
