How to fix XP multi partition bootloader?

XP no longer offer option to select whatever partition to boot during startup. The primary partition was reinstalled on a multi XP partition machine. Now the pc boot straight to C: and the partitions are browsable.

1. Tryed XP recovery cd "fixmbr". No change.

Any other suggestions?

Welcome to TSF.

You have to edit a file called boot.ini.

How many XP installations do you have?
On which partitions are they located?

Post a screenshot of Disk management. (Right click "My computer" > choose "Manage" > Disk Management)

How to post a screenshot.

Open boot.ini:
Click Start > Run - type sysdm.cpl > click OK.
In system properties: Click the Advanced tab >
click Settings under Startup and Recovery >
Under System Startup, click Edit.

Boot.ini will open in Notepad - copy the text and paste it in your next post.

With the info we can write new multi-boot instructions.

Like trying to say something on the tip of your tongue...

Thanx eneles

I've restored XP boot option by creating additional instances of.....'multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="XP1_Raw" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect'.....within boot.ini and changing the partition numbering accordingly.
