partition problem

when i want install VicidialNow 1.3 based on centos 5.4 on my hard drive which have 2 partitions the partitioner consider the both as one, while Ubuntu or XP
have no broblem with that.
what can i do here to install VicidialNow 1.3 on one of those partitions without infecting the other?
