Pandigital ereader

I have pdf's and ebooks saved on my computer but cannot seem to load them onto my Pandigital. Is there a firmware update I need for this?
I have the black Pandigital - purchased from QVC in Nov of 2010

Any firmware updates would be available from the manufacturers website. Verify the model number and then check for an update.

As for file support, I can't find a list of specs for supported file types. Is it not loading any of the files or just specific files?
