Page Protect - Recommendation

845 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  ebackhus
Greetings Gang ~

I'm in need of a good Page Pass Protect Program in order to add to individual pages within my Site instead of the entire Site. Of ocurse I'd like to get one that is Free or Low in Cost. Does anyone use Pass Protection on their Site that you can setup for selected pages that you recommend?

Thanks

Are you looking for a small piece of server-side scripting to request a password, or some heavy scripting with all the bells & whistles

Small fast & easy .. I just want to deny access to one or two pages on my site unless I've given them the password. A simple code to place in my document or as easy as it gets.

BTW, I don't need to collect data of the User although if they gain access then nav to a different page and come back, the system should remeber them providng they have their cookies enabled.

No Counter stats - Data collection - no nothing .. just the door opens
If you're using an Apache server setup you can do this with the .htaccess file.

Hi Ebackhus ~ Sorry took so long to get back but I've been trying to jam into my head as much of operating F8 & DW 8 Pro as possible in the past couple of days. Whew - gotta tell you this stuff is freakin complicated. And what gets me are the ernormous amounts of Help Logs that start off by saying, "This Operation is very easy !" BS !!! DreamWeaver * Flash * are not easy no matter who you are. And God forbid you want to do something a little progressive.

Anyway, back to this .. yeah I've already created a .htaccess file and imported it into my Root Directory. I guess I was hoping we've come beyond that with maybe a nice little pre-programmed template that you simply fill in the info you want and exe it. But I guess not ..

If you''re hanging out by any chance, could you plz take a look at my new Post concerning "Alignments in DreamWeaver" ?

And thank you

I took a look at your other thread. As soon as I can devise a solution, or even some level of help, I'll reply. :) Don't give up just yet! I have formal training in DW and Flash and it's simply AMAZING what you can do once you really learn those programs.
