hey, i have been having problems with my Packard Bell Argo C2 laptop for quite a while. it turns on but it doesn't get past the windows loading screen. if it does it goes into this big scanning procedure and then shuts down as soon as it finishes and does it all over again. how can i fix this?

What scan is it running? Is it a message/error on the screen?

Can you access Safe Mode?

im not sure what type of scan it is. when i turn on the computer i can get into the setup menu or the multiboot menu. after that screen comes a screens which says," SMART failure predicted on hard disk 4: SAMSUNG HM160JI-(S1)
Warning: immediately back-up your data and replace your hard disk drive. a failure may be imminent." then it goes to the windows loading screen and does nothing else. when i first got the laptop it said the same thing to me but a friend of mine fixed it and i could use it. but he moved to australia and then it crashed again.

Most likely the hard drive has finally failed.

I would recommend getting the hard drive replaced.

so what type of hard drive do i need? a specific one? or will any laptop hard drive do?

You will need a 2.5" SATA hard drive to replace the current drive
