New here.
Great forum, seems to have more tech types than most.
Just setting up a all new system.
1st time for me from scratch.
Great learning process.

P4 2.4C
ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
2 x 512 Kingston
WD 120GB SATA
ASUS V9560VS FX5600
Antec 350 smartblue PS
WinXP Pro

Here is my problem.
All so far seems okay and I have solved all the issues so far from reading and trial and error.
The only thing at this point that is bothering me is that I cannot update/flash the BIOS.
When I follow the ASUS website directions, all I get is ERROR: BIOS has no flash information available.

Any suggestions?
Also, any good websites or books that explain BIOS information and theory in laymans terms?
I like to try and figure things out without asking for help by so far I am stumped on this one.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
David

Speedo,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have gone over the ASUS site many times to make sure I understood what they said.
I tried all kinds of combinations but nothing seems to work.

Reasons to update:

1) My system should be able to.
2) My HD is the one that v1009 talks about.
3) I may need to in the future.
4) The system has not been stressed yet so I may not have a working system even now.
5) I am curious. My girlfriend says "stubborn".
6) The computer is for my mother and I want it as stable as possible.
7) Again, I should be able to.

I plan to try and run some benchmark programs this weekend to stress the system and see what happens.

Any help you might give feel free.
Thanks
David
