Heah guys. I wandered across these forums and hopefully your great wisdom can be of some use to me :) Don't mean to sound quick on this but currently in the military and have to report to duty in like 20 mins so trying to get this post done :)

Basically i narrowed my problem down to mem settings. Was having all kinds of problems from blue screens "failure to initialize" and "IRQ not less or equal" But mostly corrupted files and the inability to copy files while installing. I changed out almost every component in the system while troubleshooting with all the same effects. Finally i droped the Dram frequency down a notch and it worked. Don't have time to finish the install but at least i got further this time :)

OK to the point. Basically what should the settings bios wise be for a system of my specs, mainly the mem settings and such. Here are a few quick links to pictures of the bios and the settings I would like to double check. Thanks BIG time in advance for any help, i am dieing to get this system running.

Grrr just realised there is a similar topic post just below this one, don't know how i missed it. Answer there or here I will watch both, sorry for the spam.

Anyways my problem was very similar to rthoma32's in this post http://www.techsupportforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=5954&forumid=15 I found that lowering my memory settings helped solve this problem so now I am looking for what the correct and optimal mem settings should be. :tongue2:

Here is the other similar post for reference and search purposes later.

It looks like the culprit was bad memory. I purchased one of the listed kingston rams on the memory list provided by asus on what they recomend using for that board and it screams. course its only 2.5 CAS.

Going to RMA the other ram and see how well it runs in the system and hopefully its not that it isn't compatable.

I ran a mem checking program on the memory and it failed all over the place. System is up and running now with the kingston value ram but hopefully I can get the new hyperX stuff running.

Thanks for the input though, FYI running 1.0.0.8 bios version. updated correctly by going to 7 first then 8 as suggested by asus . . etc.. :bandit:
