I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I've just finished putting my computer together, I've installed my OS (XP Pro) and it works fine but every time I boot the system it says my BIOS is not installed. I've done everything the MOBO manual says to do with no avail. I can get my bios to flash but when I reboot it doesn't stay.

My specs are:
Asus P4C800 deluxe
P4 3.06Ghz
120GB WD hard drive
2X 512MB DDR 400 ram
Radeon 9800 pro
Audigy 2 platinum
generic cd/rw
generic floppy

Is there maybe some jumper setting that I'm not doing or something? Any help on this would be great

Hello and welcome to the forums jwilk.................:D

Did you get the latest bios upgrade at the Asus Website?

Yes, I went to the Asus website and downloaded it but it also will not work. But I did notice that through XP it has my bios as being there(1006) but when I boot up it says bios not installed. could it be after I flash the bios and reboot that I'm not rebooting correctly? I don't know the command to reboot other than ctrl-alt-del.
One other thing, when I wired my mobo I intentionally left the speaker wire off, I have a sound card installed so do I still need that wire on? because my mobo guide says that any problems with the bios it will beep. Will I still here the beeps without the wire connected?

Go to your Bios, Advanced Menu, Onboard Devices Configuration, and DISABLE Onboard Promise Controller.
And no, you won't hear the beeps without the case speaker hooked up.
