Hi, there!

I had just made up a system with an ASUS P4C800 DELUXE MoBo, P4 3GHz FSB800, 1GB Kingston DDR3200, SBLive! 5.1, 1 P-ATA 40GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 HDD and 1 Serial ATA (SATA) 120GB Barracuda 7200.7 HDD. I am NOT using it in RAID mode.

When I boot up the SATA HD appears as Mode-5, although when I am in the BIOS setup it can see the HDD as Mode-6. I unsuccessfuly tried to force the BIOS to work on Mode-6.

:confused::confused::confused:
How can I make the drive to be correctly detected?

I would appreciate if anyone could help me.

Thanx,
RW

What Bios version do u currently have?

I had same trouble w/ ver 1007 then went to ver 1010 and alls good on that end. It was only saying Udma5, when i knew they were Udma6. I only flashed the bios due to poor Sata performance sence i was going to eventually do Raid 0

Also i currently moved my hard disks off the top Sata controller to the lower Raid Sata controller, then changed the bios to IDE mode instead, u might try it as well and post what u find.

I am using Bios 1011 beta.

I've been testing the system with Sisoft SANDRA and the results seem to be the expected from a MODE-6 HDD. Yet, SANDRA shows a warning that my mode settings are wrong. The same happens in the device manager, where the SATA drive is listed (again) as MODE-5.

I've tried booting up the system w/ only the SATA HDD connected. Again the same problem.

Any guess?

BTW, I forgot to mention that I'm using a Radeon 9600Pro as video card.

Thanks again!
