I have a friend who's having issues with his compaq supplied motherboard, so we're looking at replacing it, he has a P4 1.6 Ghz and my question is whether its a 428 pin and 478 pin out on that proc? I'm an AMD guy so I can't remember.

Well, you can just count the pins... :)

Since the P4-1.6gig comes in both packages, it's impossible to tell without seeing it or the specifications.

Doh yea I did some more research after posting :) The only problem is that the guy lives in North Carolina and I'm in washington :( So I'm having to this over the phone. But I contacted a third party compaq supplier and atleast found the ram requirements of his current system board so that helps me out alot :) and if need be I can get a 423 to 478 adapter :) No biggie :)
