when I check the properties of the disk, it says only 42MB are used, but it has 0 free space. There are some files already on the disc, so it has been formatted.

what the hell?

i am trying to post, and it isnt letting me

Edit:
well, it did that time...

i am wanting to include a nice tool but it wont even let me post the picture, or the link...

but they have good third party disk directory tools on the internet.

guess i cant help today

well, this is what it keeps telling me when i try to post the picture, or the program itself, or even the link...

I suspect you're looking at a CD, right? If so, once the disk has been closed, there is no more free space, regardless of how much data has been written onto it.

oh wow

i didnt even connect the fact that this thread was related to the one sleemie posted about roxio.

shows how much attn i pay.

although, if it is a cd-rw then you can erase it and start over.
