overheating issue

Hey guys, I have an ATI X1800XT which has recently started to overheat unless I have both a desk fan blowing on it and the air conditioning on. Temperatures can usually get up to 101 degrees while playing and sometimes idle around 68 degrees. I was planning on buying a new graphics card anyways but knowing that I have this problem already, is it possible that the same thing will happen with a newer graphics card? What do you all suggest to fix this? (I already looked at the troubleshooting thread and I doubt that its the cpu or the ram because ATI has come up with errors about it stalling, I turned the error reporting off so I havent seen one in a while though so I dont remember the exact message.)

Thanks in advance

Welcome to tsf. Post the make model and wattage of the powersupply. Also , this card agp or pci-e? And aslo , this in degrees f or c?
it is a pci-e card, the degrees are in c and tbh I forget what the wattage of the power supply is. I made this comp about 3 years ago :/

On the other hand, I bumped up the fan speed to 100% instead of 32% which dropped the temperature under load by about 30 degrees C. I dunno if that was a good enough solution, though.
Yea that fixes it. so long as it stay under 75c.
