Tech Support,

I hope this isn't a repeat thread and I'm sure you may have had this issue before, but I'm not sure where to go and I could really use some help.

I have a ASUS U50 F model # u50f-rbbag05. I'm running windows 7 and I believe I may have an overheating issue that is causing terrible performance. I know enough to keep my laptop elevated to have proper airflow and ventilation, but here recently, the left side of my laptop has been very hot and I know this is going sound odd, but I smell a slight "burning smell" from the fan side. I hope my laptop is not completely ruined but right now it is my only source of communication and I use it daily. I do not game or do anything cpu intense that would cause anything to over heat.

I installed HWmonitor and have attached the screen shot of my "readings".

I don't know what the numbers mean except for temperatures. I do not know what the normal range is and what the volt readings mean.

Here are my questions:

Help me interpret my readings?
What are normal ranges for everything?
What does the "burning" smell mean? (other than not good)
Is there anything I can diagnose or do myself before I send it off to get it looked at professionally?

I would really really appreciate any direction and support!!
Thank you so so much in advance for any help and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

I'm amazed truthfully, that it even boots into windows and you don't get BSOD's

I'm not sure blowing out the vents will help at this point but its worth a try.

If it doesn't help, take it to a laptop repair shop, but if you can, get a USB drive and get your data off
