Hi there!

Looking for some help figuring out what part of my system is freezing. Essentially any time I play a game, a few minutes in the computer will freeze and whatever image was last will be stuck on the screen. This also happens if I'm browsing the web, although sometimes I'll get a half hour out of it like that before it freezes.

I was convinced it was the video card causing this but I just replaced it with the card listed below and it's still doing exactly the same thing. My suspicion now is that it is either the CPU (which has a pretty massive heat sink on it) or something with the MOBO, but I'm at the end of my hardware knowledge and need help tracking down which component is causing this.

My hardware specs are below, any help is appreciated.

GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
MOBO: EVGA NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI LGA 775
RAM: 2ct (4GB total ram) OCZ 2GH (2x1GB) 240 pin DDR2 1066 dual channel
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz LGA 775 95W
Power: OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

HI scotbot86,

Try upgrading the drivers for your computer components and see if that helps. Upgrade the chipset drivers, network card drivers, soundcard drivers, etc.etc.

Also, check the "Event Viewer" and see the error posted from the computer. Post the error here, hope everything works out well for you.

CPU's are pretty bullet proof.
I'm unclear on the RAM. How many sticks are in use? If more than two sticks, remove anything more than two and see how it goes.
You should be at 750W with a good quality PSU for the 560 ti.
