Hi
Im looking into getting the cpu overclocked if possible or seeing if it better to buy a bigger 1.
The cpu thats in at moment is a socket a 462 athlon xp 2800+ 2.25ghz, motherboard is a asrock k7s8xe+ http://www.asrock.com/product/K7S8XE+.htm

What would be possible to clock on this cpu or get a different cpu please.

Having first-hand experience in the rather low quality of ASRock hardware I can't recommend overclocking with it. Of course, I don't recommend overclocking period. You can get a newer CPU and all the necessaries for very cheap these days.

On one hand you would benifit from a 400fsb processor such as the 3200 because the 2800 is only 333 fsb but I don't think the cost of purchasing the 3200 is worth it unless its dirt cheap.

I would overclock the 2800 because it won't take much to get it to stock 3200 speeds and with a minmal oc you should not have to add better cooling. Its IMHO to give this a shot first
