How can I determine the cause of my Outlook 2002 slowdown? I noticed about 1 - 2wks ago Outlook started taking approx 6 seconds to open an email, delete an email, go to the next email - basically every function took about 6 seconds each. It used to be almost instantaneous (spelling??).

Thanks
Dana

How big is your PST file??? I've notice that the bigger the PST file the slower Outlook 2002 is. Try splitting the PST file into two... Also what Virus Scan are you running???

I'm not sure how big my "pst" is, how do I check? Also, someone posted yesterday - disable the messenger through Outlook. I did that and all looks like it is running normally again.

Thanks.

The default place the PST file is in is local drive/documents and settings/(Your User)/Local Settings/Application Data/Microsoft/Outlook...

You got to make sure you have show hidden files enabled in the folders option...
