Outlook 2000 Sound Scheme

1408 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  foxt2372
I am running MS Office 2000 on a selfbuilt machine w/ XP Pro SP3.
For months now I have been trying to find a way to modify Outlooks sound scheme. I know it can be done since an old boss of mine had his Outlook 2000 setup to play a flushing noise anytime he deleted an email. I want to do something similar. Several people have said that I can either enter Outlook properties and change the sound scheme or simply go to Sounds and Audio devices in the control panel. Not. First there is no properties option for Outlook. There are two options under Tools: Customise and Options neither of which offer anything remotely related to the sound scheme. And the only option in XP's sound scheme is New Mail. At this point I assume I would need to write a VBA procedure to get what I want.
Can anyone help me with this.
Thanks.

I have the option in my control panel under sounds for windows explorer...
Hi John, thanks for the reply, but you clearly did not read my post carefully. As I said. Windows (XP Pro SP3) has a sound scheme and that sound scheme has ONE option for email. That option is new mail. That is the only option available.
Again I want to add a sound event when I delete an item.
Thanks again.
