OUTLOOK 2000 SP3 (9.0.0.6627) is generating the following error:

"OUTLOOK.exe is generating errors and will be closed by Windows. You must restart the program.

An error log is being generated. "

I followed the steps on Microsoft's site with no success. The error occurs when opening emails with embedded graphics. The email will open, but the error immediately pops up and closes Outlook.

Here is the Dr Watson log:

Well I tried twice to cut/paste the log but it locks up my browser. Here's the taks list from the log:

I'm sorry, I haven't seen this thread before.

There's not usually any easy answers with computers. I noticed that you said you looked up MS's suggested fixes and nothing worked, so I didn't bother looking it up.

I can say this: you do have an instance of adware in your list of proccesses. EbatesMoeMoneyM.exe. Twice. Check out this link for more information. .

Who knows if that's causing problems, but something to look into. You may want to check out the security forum to see how to find out what else lurks.

Another thing I've learned from past experience, is that Outlook 2000 doesn't like to work too well on an extremely fragmented hard disk. I've used OL2k since, well, 2000, and have fixed many Outlook problems with a scan and defrag. I have NEVER uninstalled or reinstalled Outlook, and it still works fine on the original machine.

Don't know if any of this will help, but I hope it does.

resolved (I think)

Thanks for you reply. after reviewing that log, I went to the security forum and tetonbob has helped immensely. Outlook now appears to be behaving, and the system is far cleaner.

Thanks again,
