Whats up guys, Im im a group of about 9 poeple for my senior design project and we are completely overhauling a companys network.

Heres a quick review of what we are looking at:
Right now they are running Windows 95 on their machines with Novell and a slow DLS connection of about 300 kbps with 30 machines. And to think they are a Government subcontractor with millions of dollars flowing through each day and only use firewall software.

I was just wondering what types of equipment would be reasonable for a company of this size (30 pcs). With reasonable prices (Servers, switches, firewalls, client pcs (specs for the computers: cpu speed, ram, hd) etc.

I can give more specifics if you want, but here is an overview.

Thanks,
Jason

im not a networking expert but with 30 client computers i recommend getting two 16port switches and a strong firewall router. hook 15 computers to one switch, and the other 15 computers to the other switch. then hook both computers to the firewall router.

good firewall routers to get include good brands from sonicwall and watchguard.
