Hey there guys,

Since a couple of weeks I'm playing this game (warcraft 3) which requires me to open ports 6112-6119 in order to host a game. So I did configure my livebox modem (my ISP is Orange) to forward ports 1 to 65535 to my router (Linksys) and configured my router so that ports 6112 to 6119 would be forwarded to my IP address. My IP address changes from time to time, but only in the 192.168.2.100 to 192.168.2.103 range, so I port forwarded these ports to all these possible IP addresses. I also set up windows firewall so that both the program Warcraft was under the exceptions list, as adding ports 6112 manually for both TCP and UDP under exceptions. Now I could host games and was happy.

Until yesterday, when suddenly hosting games wasn't possible anymore. I checked my IP address which was 192.168.2.102 at the time, so the port should be getting forwarded to it from the router. I tried resetting both the router and the livebox to the factory settings and even deleted the entire windows firewall from my computer but nothing seems to work.

I was hoping you guys could help me out?

Thanks in advance.

Configure the machine with fixed IP addresses so the local address doesn't change.

If the router is at 192.168.2.1, configure the machine as follows.

IP Address: 192.168.2.200
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1
DNS Address: 192.168.2.1

YOu can then configure the 192.168.2.200 address in the DMZ of the router, which will forward all ports. Also, the address won't keep changing...

Cheers for the answer, I figured out myself that my own IP address can't be in the DHCP range, and that I need a static IP instead of one I obtain automatically. My DHCP range was 192.168.2.100 to 192.168.2.109 so I picked 192.168.2.201 for myself, modified the Router firewall settings and voila :)
