Hi, we're about to purchase a NAS, Im thinking of options like Synology, QNAP and WD. Maybe some of you guys have used one of these brands might share some experience

Next is the software, most likely an open source. Any recommendations for the software as well?

Basically this NAS will just act as a backup for the file server.
