you have old XP in a partition & you have installed new XP in another partition?
oops!
I formatted my hard drive and I have the old xp disk, but my partition has the updated xp. How do I get to my partition or can I make my partition bootable?

Is that the system recovery partition you're talking about? Cuz I never liked using those but at least they have the drivers embedded in most cases. If you can simply get your hands on an OEM or retail XP with SP3 CD, you can boot from that and it'll install a "standard" unmodified version of XP and still take the CD key. You then just have to go get the drivers manually from the manufacturer.
