Hey All !
I was hoping one of you tech geniuses could help a non-tech genius 😊
My laptop is now 8 years old but I wouldnt say it’s the worst lap top.
SPECS:
Model Brand: Acer Aspire
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU @ 2.5 GHz 2.6 GHz
RAM: 16 GB
DRIVE: 1 TB SSD
ISSUE:
After working fine for many years, my Laptop Screen now turns off, the key board back lights turns on, and pc then becomes unresponsive and the display doesn’t turn back on when prompted by a mouse click, move, or key pressing (Bashing when I lose work 😂)
It seems to only happen when the charging/power cable is plugged in and the laptop is left idle for and 30min (untouched).
I’ve tried everything you fix it, here is the list of fixes I’ve tried:
I feel like I have tried everything.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to what else I can try to fix this issue?
Many Thanks in advance!
Have a great day!
Scott

- Turn it off and on again
- A Complete Format of the laptop
- Reinstalled windows
- Reinstalled the display drivers
- Downloaded display drivers online and installing those
- Played with the sleep and power settings- even setting both options to ‘Never’
- Installed a new ssd hard drive
- Installed 8gb more RAM
- Opened the laptop up and checked the cables and any damage to the PCB components - cleaned the dust as Well
I feel like I have tried everything.
