Hi

I'm staying with a friend and I can only get my laptop to connect to google and some other random pages when I'm using her Internet. My kindle and iPhone connect fine as does her mac. I have an Acer aspire 5920 using vista.
I've spoken to time warner, Microsoft and netgear who have all been useless and tried to charge me a small fortune to solve the issue which I gather from my research is something to do with weps and being locked out of the network, all help is gratefully received, thanks

the command was "ipconfig /all" space between config and /

ok
open up the browser any browser will do
Clear out everything from the address bar even www and http://
just type in 192.168.0 (you did not post the last digit)
so type in 192.168.0.1 and hit enter
it will ask you for the user name and password
ask your friend for that information or if its default then refer to the manual for your router

also if you can provide the make and model of the router we can go from there
