Okay so yesterday I bought a brand new Verbatim 320gb hard drive and when I plugged it into the computer(both mac and pc) it only showed 120gb. I did format the hard drive but it shouldn't loose that much space. I went on to my windows computer and went into disk management to see if any space was being unused. I couldn't find anything wrong.
I have attached the screenshot I took of disk management so could someone please tell me what it wrong and how can I access the full 320gb.

What Windows OS are you using? And what service pack?

Verbatim doesn't make HDD's. Sounds like you are using an external HDD. In which case, I agree, OS/driver issue.

It's also possible the external enclosure, or the drive itself is faulty.

Okay well I recently bought a MacBook pro so that's the computer I'm using . I also did reformat the external hd because of this , if that makes a difference?

Formatting should make no difference. The total drive space should be listed.

How is it formatted and which OS was used? The above screenshot looks like Drive Management in Windows. If you are moving it between Windows and Mac, it should be formatted FAT32.
