Onboard Sound - Not Working

1817 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  johnwill
Hi all,

I have an ECS K7S5A mother board, which has an onboard sound card and it hasn't worked since I've had it (since Christmas).

When I go into Mulitmedia, I can see the Aardvark (my other soundcard) and the C-Media Wave Device (the built in soundcard) so everything "appears" to be working... But when I go into the System Information (Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information) the Wave Audio Device and CD Audio Device for the Media soundcard is disabled. Everything for the Aardvark card is enabled and it works fine, so I'm guessing that this is the problem with the Media soundcard...

I also checked in the BIOS and the onboard sound IS enabled.

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem will be greatly appriciated. :)

I'd start by taking the extra soundcard out and trying to get the on-board sound working first.
