Try disabling your onboard sound in bios if it has this option
onboard audio "view only item"
I'm trying to turn off my onboard audio because i recently instailed a new sound card. But when im trying to disable my onboard audio a message pops up "View Only Item."

Hi,
Please follow Doby's advice first. If you don't get that done (some problem), then take out the new card, boot up and go in to the device manager and disable the onboard. Then shut down and install the new card. Reboot and install the new drivers.
