My new Dell 8250 is on it's way; & I would like to know how to backup my existing "Favorites" (IE 6.0), to be placed in IE on the new machine.

Thanks in advance,

mark4man

BTW - Storage medium will be CD-R. Old box is running Win98SE...new box running XP.

well, as far as i know, you open the folder for the favorites, ( c:/windows/favorites/ ) and you copy them to a floppy....

then you put the disk in the other machine and put them in same folder.....

i get the feeling you are new to pc's?

just one quick addition, I noticed mark said storage medium will be CD-R, instead of a floppy...Im assuming you have a burner...all you gotta do is find the favorites folder and burn it on just like regular data...or you can just zip the folder so you have more space on your CD-R if you're putting anything else on that CD...
