Hello Forum,

First, I would like to apologize if there is already an answer for the question I am about to ask.

So, my old computer crashed because there was an error with reading the hard drive, however, I believe there was an problem the wires, not the hard drive itself.

My question is this: Is there a way for me to get all of the files on that hard drive to my new computer?

My old OS was XP and the new one is vista.

If there is any more information needed, just ask and I will be more than happy to answer if I can.

Thank you in advance.

You could just install the old drive in the new pc. Making it a slave
drive. If your sure or pretty sure the old drive is ok. That would depend
on whether or not your old drive is ide, and that your new system has
ide support. If no ide support you could buy a external drive enclosure
"usb" and do it that way.
