I use Nero and when I am going to copy a CD I just use IMAGE and do it burner to burner. Works everytime. That way I take my cdrom totally out of the equation.
You might think about getting a better burner too. A good one that is not too expensive right now is a Lite-On and they are really good. I really like mine. And, it comes packaged with Nero.
A lot of the burner manufacturers are boxing up their burners with Nero now.
Try it. You might like it.
