i have this really old cd burner which i havent used for quite a while....few days ago i tried to burn using the latest version of nero (5.8) (actually i tried twice).
the burn process started and everything was fine untill it got stucked on 96%.
so i was wondering if any of you has any idea how to fix it....
os:win 2000
cd burner: SAF CD-RW2224
pentium 2 350mhz

The primary IDE channel is set to DMA if available
The secondary is set to PIO only

do you think that by setting the secondary to DMA i will be able to burn?

Well......few minuts after starting the test i received an error and the test failed

and i followed the instructions in the links and its still not working

Are you sure? i mean i checked the website and i saw there CD RACER (2*2*24).

At the front of my CD burner its written "CD Racer" and my speed is 2*2*24

Hmmmm tough one, it has been a long time since my last successful burn but i am quiet sure i managed to burn in the past

Yeah i guess you probably right..............

i am running pentium 2 350, do you think i might have trouble buying the latest CD burners (i mean will it fit my computer)?
