I recently upgraded from XP Home to XP Professional and lost the ability to open the scan feature in the HP Solution Center. Today is day 5 of trying solutions from HP Tech Support, live chat with HP, and reading forums. I have uninstalled and reinstalled over 9 times, disabled the firewall in Windows and in McAfee, changed the WIA settings, etc. But the same "an unexpected internal error has occurred" message pops up no matter what. The model is an HP Officejet 5610. Windows XP SP2. Help, please. The HP tech had me open more ports, but same results. One other thing, when I uninstall the HP software, the only one that does not uninstall is the HP Image Zone, if that matters.
