A computer was donated to my family - Dell, Windows XP, Office 2002. I was able to delete the "adult" files, temp, cookies, etc. but when going to "save as" the file list that appears can't be deleted. The selected file looks like it is deleted, but it is still in the list. I don't want a child to come across some of these file names. Any way to get rid of them?

(This is my second try. I posted this question on Windows XP by accident.)

Is this in Microsoft word, excel? When do you see this list, right before you click on save-as or after you click on save-as.

Is this list of files toward the bottom of the menu? Those listed there are the most recently opened files. Even if they are deleted, the program remembers the file names and locations. They can't open anymore, but they stay there until they are bumped off. If you're worried about what they might say then you can just create dummy files and use those to flood the recently opened files list.
