I opened Outlook on my home pc (Windows 10) yesterday (4 Jan) for the first time since 31 December. An on-screen message said that 200+ messages were downloading. This is more than I would expect to have. When that process had finished I expected the messages to appear in my inbox as normal but none did. (There was no error message on Outlook.) I then checked my email provider's webmail and there were about fifty new messages in the inbox. These have still not appeared in my Outlook inbox. This has happened on one previous occasion, which was after a substantial gap in which a large number of messages could have built up.
I have checked Microsoft Support and installed OffCAT, which failed to find any fault related to the downloading of emails or their appearance in the Outlook inbox. Messages received by the server since I opened Outlook yesterday have been downloaded by Outlook. I would be most grateful for any suggestions as to what might be going on and what could be done about it.
