yea i tried that and it didn't work but if i goin into sfae mode or anything else besides normal my task bar doesnot desapere

EXTREMELY WEIRD i typed C:/ and my taskbar and all my desktop stuff is now showing so it works now

Lets rule out malware, go through the First Steps at Removing Malware

Run the System File Checker
Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow ( sfc if not reconized) (Note that there is a space between sfc and /scannow)

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.


In all likelihood you will be prompted to insert the Windows XP CD.

its not a virus or nothing i just installed xp again and it does it its because explorer.exe does not open on launch i guess i got to go open explorer every start up

If you just reinstalled the O.S. again you should not be having these issues. Did you format the drive and install a fresh copy of XP?
