Hi guys,

I recently purchased a new video card for my brother's computer. Well it hasn't worked out too well I'm afraid. Ever since I put the card in it's been freezing maybe 10-30 seconds after windows boots, and it seems the cause is the chipset drivers for the motherboard.

Anyway, here's the specs:
Asus M3N-HT Deluxe
AMD Athlon 6000+
Graphics Card:
Sapphire ATI HD4870 1gb
4gb DDR2 800
Some generic 160gb HDD.
750 Watt Coolermaster PSU

And Windows Vista Ultimate

I have tried a clean install of Windows, and everything went great, I installed Vista, and it's service pack and then installed the ATI drivers, everything went fine. It's only after I installed the chipset drivers that everything decided to **** up and do it's own thing. It seems (after installing each driver separately) that there is not one piece of software on the disc that came with the motherboard that can be installed without freezing the PC. I have also tried installing the graphics card and it's drivers in another machine with an Asus P5NSLI board, and they worked flawlessly.

I can't think of anything else I can do at this stage.

It works in safe mode.

Thanks in advance,
