Got home today and saw that my computer had some strange things going on with it.

Here are some pics, and the BSOD:

Please tell me what's going on. I disconnected my 8800 GTS but still no luck.

I think my drivers are probably not working correctly. When I boot regularly, the highest resolution I can choose is 1280 x 1024 (I have a 40" Samsung 1080p TV). Went into Device Manager and checked the GPU. There's a yellow ! sign on it and the error is Code 43.

Your motherboard has on-board graphics?

From the look of those pictures alone it's a hardware problem.

8800 GTS is a graphics card. But the issue has been resolved. I woke up this morning and it was fixed somehow. :smile:

I was failing to see how removing the card would fix anything unless you have onboard graphics to fall back on.

lol I forgot to say "and reconnected it." Sorry about the mix-up. But yeah. Umm... yesterday my display driver "crashed" and "recovered" about 12 times. Time for new graphics card?

Sure looks like it to me. If you want to be sure see if you can borrow one for a day or two for testing purposes.

Just a little update:

Every now and then my computer will freeze, and the display driver will crash, sometimes not being able to restore itself. And upon restarting I'll get a BSOD a few times, and then it'll boot up with what I'm guessing is on-board graphics at 1280 x 1024, with yellow lines (on white) and blue lines (on black) down the monitor. I have the newest version of the display drivers, and I don't think my graphics card really has any problems... I've only had it for 3 years, but if that's it then I gotta know. Thanks.

Thanks for the response.

I woke up today and disconnected everything in computer, dusted things off, changed RAM placement, reset CMOS, booted it up ran verifier. After that, the computer restarted on its own twice, and it's been running fine since then. If I have any further problems I'll post again. :wink:
