· OS - Windows 7 64-bit
· What was original installed OS on system? Windows 7
· Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Retail
· Age of system (hardware): CPU, memory, motherboard, processor are from 2009 and GPU is from 2007
· Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? 2009
· CPU: Intel i7 920
· Video Card: nVidia 8808GTS
· MotherBoard: eVGA X58 SLi LE
· Power Supply - brand & wattage: Thermaltake Black Widow 850W

Got home today and saw that my computer had some strange things going on with it.

Here are some pics, and the BSOD:

Please tell me what's going on. I disconnected my 8800 GTS but still no luck.

I think my drivers are probably not working correctly. When I boot regularly, the highest resolution I can choose is 1280 x 1024 (I have a 40" Samsung 1080p TV). Went into Device Manager and checked the GPU. There's a yellow ! sign on it and the error is Code 43.

Yes, I am aware 8800GTS is a graphics card. I was just confused because you said

I was failing to see how removing the card would fix anything unless you have onboard graphics to fall back on.

Glad to hear it appears to be fixed anyway, feel free to post back if you have more problems.

lol I forgot to say "and reconnected it." Sorry about the mix-up. But yeah. Umm... yesterday my display driver "crashed" and "recovered" about 12 times. Time for new graphics card?

Just a little update:

Every now and then my computer will freeze, and the display driver will crash, sometimes not being able to restore itself. And upon restarting I'll get a BSOD a few times, and then it'll boot up with what I'm guessing is on-board graphics at 1280 x 1024, with yellow lines (on white) and blue lines (on black) down the monitor. I have the newest version of the display drivers, and I don't think my graphics card really has any problems... I've only had it for 3 years, but if that's it then I gotta know. Thanks.

Does appear to be hardware related.

From the software end, see if Driver Verifier can find anything.

Driver Verifier - http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217/driver-verifier-windows-7-and-vista-bsod-related-473665.html

Provide full system info - http://www.techsupportforum.com/f217/blue-screen-of-death-bsod-posting-instructions-452654.html

Thanks for the response.

I woke up today and disconnected everything in computer, dusted things off, changed RAM placement, reset CMOS, booted it up ran verifier. After that, the computer restarted on its own twice, and it's been running fine since then. If I have any further problems I'll post again.
