When i activate FXAA thru nvidia control panel the game flickers between FXAA on and FXAA off. On dx10 it works fine, also if i disable ingame AA it no longer flickers on dx9, i need ingame AA because it's better than nvidia cpanel AA and i cant use dx10 because it lags badly. When i start the game and move on the map a bit it stabilizes to FXAA on. If i Alt+Tab out of the game, the flicker shows up again. I play Blitzkrieg mod for Company of heroes and to find enough players for a match there it takes time and i need to Alt+Tab to do other **** on the pc while the game fills up, it happens on the unmodded version of CoH too so it's not the mod. The card is gtx 970, on my old gtx 550 it worked fine without any flicker. This is important for me because FXAA makes the game look 10 times better. Any help greatly appreciated. I would offer money for a fix but its not allowed.

I'd start by resetting the Gobal Settings profile in the nvidia control panel. You may of changed a setting that could cause issues with some games. I know setting Texture Filtering to High Quality can lead to some Dx9 games water to render incorrectly (Not noticeable at first until you toggle between them).

Are you using the SweetFX injector?

If your looking for less jaggies FXAA is a poor mans solution as all it does is use a method called "Edge detection" then blurs the neighboring pixels.
You should try Nvidias DSR to upscale the image.

Never touched the Global Settings in the cpanel, i only worked in the Program Settings tab directly on the game

No SweetFX injector

For RTS games like Company of Heroes that's exactly what i need, blur. Never tried DSR but from what i read its only for games that support res above 1920x1080, which CoH does not.

Here is a short video showing the flicker, as you can see after i move on the map a bit it no longer flickers, it stays FXAA on but if i Alt+Tab it starts to flicker again. Didn't uploaded on youtube because for some reason it reduces quality and the flicker cant be seen anymore. On this website if you experience lag you have to let the video load until the end.

Here is the difference between FXAA on and off, in my oppinion FXAA on looks a lot better.

It's my favorite game+mod and it hurts me that i cant play it in its full glory :)

If anyone knows alternative methods on how to get similar results, any ideas greatly appreciated.

Ive looked into the issue. Although i missed the issue in the vid on the first couple of passes, its so subtle.
From what i can gather it seems related to the games shader been set to ultra on a Nvidia Card. The flicker mainly occurs on transparent textures with FXAA been enabled. Some people have reported that setting the games shader to High is a workaround.

In Company of Heroes High Shader means Dx9, on dx9 it no longer flickers if i disable Antialiasing too, Ultra Shader means Dx10, on Dx10 it does not flicker even with AA enabled but on Dx10 the game is very laggy.
