Alright :) But is it comparable with the 8800 GTS? I find lot's of reviews, but can't quite determine how it compares to my 8800 which i was very happy with. It's 5 years old and still i could play Skyrim at 1680x1050.

i'm also looking at a PSU, the Cooler Master Silent Pro M 600W

I checked out the topic from your signature and came up with the XFX PRO750W Core Edition. Price / performance wise that seems like a good deal.

The ASUS EAH6870 DC/2DI2S/1GD5 seems a lot more budgetfriendly and outperforms the GTX 560 TI ... so perhaps i go with that. What would you pick for about 220 euro?

I'm getting confused now ... i read the difference between the HD6870 and the EAH6870 is that the EAH is factory overclocked? So it should perform a bit better right? Don't know what to get anymore, too many letters and numbers involved :D Makes it confusing for a newbie like me.

They are both HD6870 cards, the Asus model EAH6870 has faster clocks from the factory, It makes a difference but by no means a large difference in the performance of the card, I tend to go with stock clock cards as I feel they are more stable and last longer, and can always be overclocked if you really need to.

I guess you're right about that! So looking at a stock HD6870 now. There are a lot of different brands like Club 3D, Sapphire, XFX, MSI, Gigabyte. The difference in price is 20 euros. Some say it's only because of the brandname and label on the card but others claim there's a difference in cooling. Right now i'm drawn towards the XFX dual fan edition, as it's said to cool very well and it's quiet.

i had a similar issue as yours and now i have a new graphics card, Geforce gtx 550Ti, and it runs well but with some BSODs sometimes (which i just posted a thread about). since u have ordered the stuff already i want to know if i have to upgrade my psu too because i have 500w psu and 550Ti used less power than my old 460 so please let us know the result of using ur old graphics card with new PSU. that way i will know if i need more power from this system. Also it would make more sense in my scenario since i just built my system. Thank You i would really appreciate ur results! :D

Actually i also upgraded my PSU to a 750W :) They said here that 500W is not enough for my old 8800 GTS so perhaps it's a good idea for you too to upgrade your PSU.

follow someone else's thread but only post on it if offering a possible solution

the 560 peaks at a 33% more power draw than a 460

a 80+ quality 750w is needed for the 560ti

Just my luck ... PSU and the new card arrived yesterday. To install them i had to remove my CPU cooler. After all was installed it turns out the plastic pins of my CPU cooler are budged and i can't install it anymore :( Have to either replace the pins or the entire unit.
