Why does ntoskrnl.exe want to break out and report to the mother ship?

Been directing Sygate to not allow.

ntoskrnl.exe controls the boot screen and can be used by a virus (w32.bolzano?)
Keep it blocked by your firewall for now and run some antivirus checks.

Go to http://www.leelarson.net/ntoshelp.htm for related information, but be careful if you're going to make any changes.

Thanks Koala,
Have AVG full-time and have scanned with Ewido and AVK.
Also Spybot, SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster and Ad-Aware, everything came back clean except for the typical cookies (adware).

Wonder if it's got something to do with MS and product activation (anti-piracy)?

It has something to do with Netbios and/or Client for Microsoft Networking. Search the Sygate forums for many posts on the subject. In any case, it's normal network traffic.
