Having issues with my windows Xp HP I don't have either disc to help me recover please help

I got all the way to step 7 but on the next step I got the system cannot find the path specified message

Are you able to take a picture of the screen with a camera and upload the photo in a post? It would be helpful to see what you're seeing. If that's not an option try to describe what you're seeing and what is on the screen.

dir and press enter

is a Windows directory shown?

Okay, windows is there.

Try to type:
CD Windows
and press enter. If that works try
CD System32

No luck

Once you're in the windows folder which you are at this point.

Type CD System32

You need a space between CD and system32

I typed CD SYSTEM32 and it said the system cannot find the specific path

type DIR and press enter and see if you can find the system32 folder

I restarted my computer and did the command prompts after I typed in DIR I got c:\minit\system32> should I enter CD SYSTEM32 now

C: appears to be the recovery drive, H: is the operating system drive.
You should be performing the commands on that drive.

I switched it over to h: Drive and then typed CD SYSTEM32 no luck all I got was the system cannot find the path specified

Can you go to the H drive, go to H:\Windows and then type DIR /W and take a screen shot of that.

On the H:\> prompt, type CD Windows and press enter. In the H:\>Windows prompt type CD system32 and press enter.
