 Could someone please help! I have been trying to figure out this since last July! We use Nt 4.0 running imacs 9.04. (I didn't design this great combo, I just try to deal with it!) Anyways, last summer they had some one come out, no one knows why or what they did, but when I returned to work, all of the macs can't see our NT in the chooser. If I click on Appleshare and try to connect through ip to the server it says that the server isn't responding. But Macping can ping the server with out any problems. We are running MacFile and services for Macintosh. All the shares seem to be in place still. I think it has something to do with the appletalk protocol or something? The users have the appropriate rights, and guests log ons are allowed. But it just won't show up in the chooser. We don't use zones on our network and I think it defaults to a "*" zone. Hope this makes since! I have spent too many hours trying to figure it out and it was already install when I got there, so I'm not sure what I can delete and reinstall with out bringing our whole network down. Thanks Karen Fredette

Fixed it!

After hours of trying to figure out what they did, I fixed it today. When I checked the services for macintosh there was a check on the appletalk routing. I kept getting an error that appletalk wasn't running but it was, and then and error 10055 when I tried to print from Nt. But I finally got it all working today. Until, they let someone else in when I'm not there! Thanks. fredette

thank you

Thank you for your interest! It was a freak thing actually! I've tried since July of last year to figure out what they did! I just finally found it by chance!I posted this is shear desperation! I really could use some nt contacts with knowledge of macintosh networks if any one is interested! I still have questions on the bacis performance and tips. I know macs better than nt and 98, 2000, and ME better than nt. Thanks Karen
