There is a big problem in my pc i runs smoothly but sometimes with a very little sound (chik)from the hard disc my PC stops responding even my cursor hangs up and i have to push the restart button to restart it.When the computer stops responding the HDD light does not flicker is on constantly and sometimes it is off.Plz help.
I have checked my hard disc there are no bad sectors .ray:

have shot at running memtest for 4hrs or more if you can, it will tell you if your ram has errors or not. Have you also run malware/spyware scans

Also, please list your system specs including the hard drive information.
A clicking hard drive is serious, you should back up your data a.s.a.p.

Hi,

Download the hard drive manufacturer's utility and run it against the drive. This is usually the most accurate thing to test the integrity of the drive, because some of the other things you do can give readings that are not as accurate. YOu will find the link here:

Intel prescott 2.4ghz, intel 845gvsr motherboard, ram 256mb DDR 333mhz,

hard discs 1->SAMSUNG SP0612N(60 gb) 2->HDS728080PLAT20 (Hitchi 80gb)


But i think its the problem of my SMPS.Because my hard discs
