I've had this problem before and it's still happening.

eMachines T3265
AMD Athlon 3200+ XP Processor (not sure about the GHz, can't boot up)
768 MB of RAM
160 GB hard drive
Foxconn K7S741GXMG-6L Socket A (Socket 462) SiS 741GX Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

I recently was having trouble with my parents' computer trying to get it to work. After many different attempts I finally got a new motherboard and processor for them, and now, after putting both new items in, the computer still does not boot up. It turns on and goes, and everything seems to be working, if I toggle the NumLock the light goes on and off, but nothing shows up on the monitor. I tried the integrated video on the mobo and also put in one of my graphics cards and still nothing shows up, the monitor acts as though it's not plugged in. I've checked the clear CMOS pins and the CMOS battery is brand new, so I really don't know what the problem is. Any advice?

Hi,

Go back and take out the new video card and then clear the CMOS and that way we can at least start over with the onboard card.

Then:

Did you load the Chipset drivers from the motherboard disk when you loaded your OS?

Just for info, do you have SP2 loaded?

Have you tried it with only one stick of ram?

Does it give you a post beep?

Do all fans continue and lights stay on?

Last, but very, very important....Did you change the model number or put in a different brand motherboard, but are still trying to use the hard drive from the old motherboard?

Post back after you have had a chance to look at these issues.

Took out graphics card and cleared CMOS and:

I put the new mobo in because the computer wasn't working, so I am unable to load the chipset drivers.

SP2 was loaded, I have since formatted the HD in the computer. Still no motherboard bootup screen or anything.

Have tried every combination possible of one/two sticks in different slots.

The speaker plug from the PC doesn't fit the plugs on the new mobo, so unfortunately I cannot get a post beep. I did plug speakers into the back but I don't think that's doing anything.

All fans stay on.

Yes, we got a different brand/model motherboard, but I formatted the HD that we had been using so it's clear in that department. We should still get a motherboard bootup screen and all that, and nothing at all appears on the screen.

Oh, and we have another model eMachines which now has the exact same problem as this one! But we won't even touch on that at this point.
