Boot windows normally.

Then insert the Norton CD

This will autorun the installation routine.

One of the options available should be to remove everything.

If this fails try using the SYNART norton removal utility.

Then re-install

Thanks a lot for the help, Ceri.

I'm trying to install the software. I inserted the CD. In the opening panel, I clicked on Install Norton Internet Security. The CD in the CD Rom would spin for awhile but then it would stop and nothing else would proceed.

are you able to explore the cd in my computer?
Maybe I can help first go to www.symantec.com/symnrt and download the norton removal tool to your desktop and then run it .after you restart your PC go to www.norton.com/nis07 and download your internet security suite If you have the 2007 edition and you have not expired you can download the 2008 edition and use your code from the original cd when it asks for your activation code www.norton.com/nis07 or nis08 as long as you are the purchaser of the product and you have an active account (wich you will need to upgrade) you can download either one.these are trial aplications untill you activte it with your original activation code make sure you see the screen that tells you how many day's you have left on your subscription and then you know you have activated corectly good luck joey
