I'm working on some guys computer and I get the error that you would get if you were to leave a non-bootable floppy disk in. The infamous, non-system disk error. I have a feeling that the floppy drive is bad but I would like an opinion of somebody that knows more than I do. It would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Email me if you can at [email protected] Thanks again.

If there is no floppy in the floppy drive and you get that error message means the hard drive has lost its boot information. This can be because of several things including, virus, or bad hard drive.

If you have a bootable floppy that you are trying too boot off of, then yes it can either be a bad floppy, or a bad floppy drive. Another thing to check is to make sure the floppy drive is setup correctly in bios, and try and different cable.
