Have been using Microsoft's comfort curve keyboard 2000 v 1.0 for several years and never had an issue. The issue started when building new computers, with the intel motherboard DQ57TM. I have installed the latest microsoft Intellipoint 8.0 (IPx86_1033_8.0.225.0) and updated the bios and chipset for the motherboard. Before I installed the intellipoint driver the system kept asking for a driver and since our users have only no local admin rights they would get the box asking for the the admin password for the driver installation. Microsoft's answer was to install the driver.

The driver seemed to fix the issue for a while when the keyboard becomes non-responsive after logging off.

Any additional ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Use keyboards that don't require intellipoint or any other software (eg non-microsoft keyboards).

You can't expect all older hardware to play well with a new operating system.
