Hi Everybody,
I have a problem setting up my 4 harddrives. I have the following setup
1 x Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB SATA
1 x Samsung 80g IDE
2 x 300g Maxtor SATA
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
The Raptor drive is set up with WINXP PRO on the Intel SATA controller, boots fine, windows runs ok.
I want to set up the 2 Maxtor drives as seperate SATA drives in a non raid config, but no matter what setup I try in the BIOS I can't get them to work. It seems they will work if I enter the Promise raid setup, but this unsettles the Raptor drive and windows fails to load.
I have just reinstalled windows after having them set up as a raid 0.
The Samsung drive is set up as a slave and is used for programs and again works fine.
Are there too many drives or will this work. I can reinstall windows if needed.
