Alright, so today I tried to play a game on my laptop. But it wouldn't start because it said i didnt have the right version of Direct3D. So i started checking for what video card i have on my laptop, but i couldnt find it. I tried to:

Desktop->Properties->Settings->Advanced->Adapter. But where it would normally say which video card i have there, it was blank. But there was a button there that said "Properties", so i clicked that. There it said "VgaSave", "VgaSave Display Controller", and "Device type: Non-Plug And Play Drivers".

So i tried another way:
Run->dxdiag->Display. And there it said my driver's name is "vga.dll", but under "Device" is was only blanks and "n/a"s.


So im a little puzzled. I need to find out what Video Card i have, and which Direct3D i should download. Thanks for any Replies. =)

most laptops come with a onboard video chip not an actual card

So, with no video card, which Direct3D version should i download to play my game?

That solution isn't for my problem.
I simply just dont have a video card installed (I have a video chip), but i'd still like to play the game on my laptop. How can i do that?

In DirectX Diagnostics tool it says under Notes: "Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the driver is the final version from the hardware manufactor."

go to the laptop makers download page for your laptop and down load the video driver from there
